I was wondering how long do you say is the puppy stage. Our lab weighs over a hundred pounds and she is two months shy of being a year. Is she out of the puppy stage or does she have time to go?

I honestly believe that a puppy is a puppy for 1 year. After that they outgrow that stage. But it's funny because little breeds are always considered a puppy even if they are 5 years old! But I would say that it would be a year.

With Labs, iI would say that they stay puppies for about 2 years. They have some issues of puppyhood, that take alittle longer.

|
most dogs stay puppies for around 2-3 yrs but i have had a lab and he was very puppish for about 30 months and even then there were certain things about him that have always remind very puppy like

I always thought that they were a puppy for a year but that they still acted like a puppy for 2-3 years.

I have always considered dogs puppies until they are about 2 years old. They just have this puppy-like quality for the first couple years of their lives, and I think it's so adorable.

I read someplace where bigger dogs mature a bit slower and so remain puppies for 2 years where smaller dogs are considered adult at a year.
