how did you go about toilet training your puppy?  this is personally a big challenge on my part as we simply let our puppy and dogs stay outside and do their thing behind bushes and plants in our garden. can you share some tips on how i can make this task easier for me, my puppy and my dogs? thanks.

I just got a puppy, so I'm having these problems as well! I haven't had a dog in quite some time, so I'm not sure about the best way to go about potty training them.

Our you talking about inside or outside? If outside I have no clue my dog still goes wherever he wants. As for inside I must have had an easy dog because he trained really fast. What I did is at night I kept him in the cage and during the day I would let him out once an hour and within a week he was potty trained. If you work maybe try this on the weekend.

First, expect accidents and respond to them as you would a human child. Beating a puppy, rubbing their nose in it...etc is cruel. When they first wake up, take them outside. When they are finished tell them what a good dog they are. If you catcfh them having an accident in the house, say "NO" firm but not loud and take them outside.

I've been lucky in that I grew up with dogs and then took my dogs with me hen I moved out of my parents home. I've never had a puppy without an adult dog in the house. The adult dogs are incredibly efficient at training puppies.

I would try to get the puppy in a routine where they know that they will be taken out every hour or 2 hours, depending on your schedule.  Also maybe a puppy door would be good and teach them to go outside when they need to.

A schedule is so important. And to stick to it. A puppy does get used to routine. Quite fast if you let em.

what i have always done with any puppies i have has is keep them to a routine that works with yours such as keep newspaper down in a certain area and tell them to go to the toilet there until they are old enough to go out as soon as you are awake either put them on the paper or let them out as soon as they have eaten do the same and before you go to bed also at regular intervals in the day also praise is very important praise them for getting it right and scold if wrong
