Suggested Feedings

Do you think that the suggested feeding on a package of dog food is a adequate amount of food for  your dog? I am a nutritionist and i feel like some suggestions for humans barely meet the requirements to stay healthy. I just wonder if this is the same for dogs?

I don't even read the suggested diets anymore. Sometimes they seem accurate, but other times completely bizarre. I feed my animals according to my own schedule, rather than what it says on the bag. My animals seem to prefer my way anyway.
