I know that little dogs might need sweaters. If you have a big dog like a lab, do you really think they need to have a sweater? What do you get that holds up and the dog doesn't chew up? Is there a website with special sweaters you can order? I do find that all those pet chain stores have most of the same things and they don't have any class to them. Thanks for the info and please support my discussion.

I have a poofy pomeranian. In Winter, she's fine. The problem is that in late Winter/ early Spring we get about a week of really warm weather that causes her to lose her winter coat....then it gets frigid again. I have sweaters for that. Then in Late Spring it will do it again...but not as severely and I have a few shirts for her for those times. All totaled about 8. She will actually bring them to me.
I wish I could help on a big dog but all the stores I know of cater to portapups...small to tiny dogs.

Good luck! I have never been able to find anything for my dog, which is big as well. Maybe you can get someone to make you one?

I have a dog that is part lab and I just don't think she would ever keep a sweater on. I could see her trying to get it off and tearing it apart. But you're right I have never seen any for bigger dogs.

There ARE places that make them for large dogs. A local store carried them ad I once saw a Yellow Lab wearing a black leather jacket, hat and sunglasses riding shotgun on a Harley.
It was hysterically funny.....

My sis always uses a sweater on her pug in the winter. He is so short and he shakes if she doesn`t put it on him.

You can probably find something on Ebay, I'm sure. I've seen just about everything on that website! I have seen bigger dogs with sweaters. My sister has a big dog, and she used a dog Halloween costume as a sweater for her poor dog.
