My lab tends to sleep all night and has the nerve to fall asleep during the day. We don't do much because i am a stay at home mom. So she'll play and then she sleeps. Is too much sleep harmful to a dog? Please share your thoughts and thanks for the info.

I don't think that too much sleep would hurt your dog either, have you asked your vet?

Sounds to me like she's bored. At home with you all day there is nothing to do so she sleeps....then when there is something to do she gets up and plays. Makes perfectly good sense to me.
