So I was wondering if anyone has this and if so do you like it? My mother in law wants to get it but I have no clue if it is pricey and does it really keep the do inside a certain area? Thanks

I don't have one, but I've heard from other people that they do work. While they may work, I would never use one. I would never let something shock my pet, or harm it in any way. I really don't think it's worth it.

They do work, my neighbor has one. It does seem quite harmful to keep shocking the dogs. But I guess eventually they learn where they can go and can't.

I thought that it was not a very big shock just enough to get their attention. I would think that after awhile they would learn though where they can go and where they cannot go. I never really thought about the shock aspect of it to be honest. I would never want a dog to get hurt.

The shock probably isn't very big, but I still wouldn't get one. I don't think that any shock is appropriate. I've seen some of the dogs yelping in pain, and they've had it for over a year. It obviously hasn't worked for them.

Sorry, I'm another one who's anti-shock. I think it's cruel. Here is my cruelty test: Would it be morally wrong to do to a 2 year old child? If the answer is yes, don't do it to your dog (or cat, or ferret....etc).

That's a good test. I don't have children, but my dog (and cat for that matter) is equally as important to me as it would be if it were a human.  I just don't see myself disrespecting my animals in any way.
