I live in the South where it is really hot. Is it safe to bathe a dog outside? Do you think they are more likey to catch colds if this is done? Should you use hot or cold water to bathe the dog?

I have always used a luke warm water when bathing our dog. I have done it outside at times. I really don't see anything wrong with bathing a dog outside as long as it isn't cold out.

It doesn't get very cold here, so the majority of people that I know actually bathe their dogs outside. It's much more convenient to do it outside than inside, because it doesn't make as much of a mess. I always use warm water - not too cold and not hot.

i live in the uk and we never bathe our dog outside because it gets cold but i suppose if you are in a hotter country then it wouldnt be a problem and it would be easier and less mess

My dog weighs in at 2lbs. I bathe her in the sink. When I had my Rottie I'd bathe him outside in nice weather. Most of the time I sprayed him with the hose....called him over to me and washed him down with a sponge and soapy water...then sprayed him off as he ran and played in the sprinkler. He loved water.
