Physical Attributes
The Rottweiler is about 22 to 27 inches tall and weighs about 90 to 110 pounds. It has a powerful wide chest and hind legs, sloping feet, hanging ears and a tail which is usually docked. The hind feet are usually bigger than the front feet. Rottweiler have short black coats with tan markings.

Originally bred as a herding dog, Rottweil dogs are peaceful though they have been recieving a lot of bad press lately. Bad dog breeders are to blame for this since they breed dogs with highly aggressive tendencies which results in their violent behaviour.
Well trained Rottweilers provide the owners with a great deal of loving companionship. They are quick to learn and usually want to please their owners. Rottweilers usually don't bark and before they attack they usually tend to go still which makes people to percieve them as unreliable.
The breed traces its history back to the Roman Empire. The dogs were primarily used in both droving and protecting the cattlemen from robbers.
