John's dog.
Origin
Newfoundland (now part of) Canada.
Physical Attributes
The dog has a short, dense, black, chocolate or yellow coat. The feet have thick pads and has a powerful chest and barrel shaped ribcage.
Males are about 22 inches tall at the shoulders weighing about 67 pounds while females are from 21 to 22 inches tall at the shoulders and weigh about 63 pounds.
Miscellaneous Information
The Labrador Retriever is a friendy, intelligent and obedient dog. Originally bred in Newfoundland to assist fishermen in hauling fishing nets. Its an excellent dog for guiding the blind, and is also a good rescue dog for people lost in the woods.
Labrador Retrievers need lots of exercise in order to remain healthy and fit. They have been the most popular breed of dogs in America for 15 consecutive years!
There are two different types of Labrador Retrievers, the English and the American. English Labradors are shorter and stockier than their American cousins.
